This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for payments made on the Tutify platform. Please read this policy carefully before making any payments.

1. Tutor Onboarding Fee

General Policy:

The tutor onboarding fee is a one-time payment for platform access, profile verification, and ID proof checking. This fee is generally non-refundable once payment is completed.

Exceptions:

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate Payment: If you accidentally made multiple payments for the same onboarding fee, the duplicate amount will be refunded
  • Technical Error: If a payment was processed due to a technical glitch or system error
  • Platform Unavailability: If we are unable to provide the platform service within 30 days of payment due to technical issues on our end
  • Account Rejection: If your tutor account is rejected by admin for reasons not related to false information or policy violations, you may request a refund within 7 days of rejection

Note: Refunds will not be issued if your account was rejected due to providing false information, failing ID verification, or violating platform policies.

2. Tutoring Session Payments

Payments for actual tutoring sessions are made directly between students and tutors. Tutify is not a party to these transactions and therefore:

  • We do not process refunds for tutoring session fees
  • Refund policies for tutoring sessions should be agreed upon directly between students and tutors
  • Disputes regarding tutoring payments should be resolved between the involved parties

Recommendation: We encourage students and tutors to discuss payment terms, cancellation policies, and refund conditions before starting regular sessions.

3. Refund Request Process

To request a refund for the tutor onboarding fee:

  1. Send an email to support@tutify.in with subject line "Refund Request - [Your Name]"
  2. Include the following information:
    • Your full name and tutor ID
    • Payment transaction ID and date
    • Reason for refund request
    • Supporting documentation (if applicable)
  3. Our team will review your request within 7 business days
  4. You will receive a decision via email

4. Refund Timeline

If your refund request is approved:

  • The refund will be processed within 7-10 business days of approval
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used
  • Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 5-7 business days for the refund to appear in your account
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is processed

5. Partial Refunds

In some cases, we may offer partial refunds at our discretion. This decision will be based on factors such as time elapsed since payment, services already utilized, and the specific circumstances of your request.

6. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will not be issued in the following situations:

  • Change of mind after successful account verification
  • Failure to receive student requirements due to incomplete profile
  • Account suspension or termination due to policy violations
  • Providing false information during registration or verification
  • After 30 days from the date of payment (except in cases of technical error)

7. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback through your bank or payment provider without first contacting us, your account may be suspended pending resolution. We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any payment concerns before initiating a chargeback.

8. Changes to Refund Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
